Fisher Price Baby Cubes Robin The Bobbin

You can use Fisher Price Baby Cubes together with Clipo. However, it is not possible to combine the cubes straight, but it is possible at an angle of 45 degrees. The blue and yellow platforms at the bottom are also Fisher-Price. These cubes have even more building possibilities that normal Peek-A-Blocks.

Robin the Bobbin, the big-bellied Ben,
He eat more meat than fourscore men;
He eat a cow, he eat a calf,
He eat a butcher and a half;
He eat a church, he eat a steeple,
He eat the priest and all the people!

A cow and a calf,
An ox and a half,
A church and a steeple,
And all the good people,
And yet he complain’d that his stomach wasn’t full.

Peek-A-Blocks are baby cubes for kids by Fisher Price brand. A side of the cube is 2 inches. Our middle daughter got these cubes first at a respectable age of 2 years old. We bought her cubes with different sounds – rattles, bells and other noisemakers. And then we got other options. There are cubes of different themes – animals, vehicles, the alphabet. Cubes are usually transparent, for example, you can see insides of cube with an animal from 5 sides.

Peek-A-Blocks – Cubes With A Secret

Cubes are usually transparent, for example, you can see insides of cube with an animal from 5 sides.

There are also little attractions – a dog wags its tail when you shake a cube, beads jump around a pig, ducklings spin around with their mother. In general, for kids this is not only the very first building material, but also an entertaining toy.

Usually there are 6 cubes in a set. To further fascinate your child with these set, there are also various tables, sorters and other devices for playing with cubes. For this purpose, we have a musical giraffe. But kids no longer put the cubes in it, they use small cars.

The photo shows our very favorite cubes. For example, a chicken squeaks when you press a button on top and at the same time hides behind a descending shell. The kids really like touching the strings and ribbons on the cubes. Our absolute favourite cubes are those with a bell and a metal ball. And the youngest loves a cube with 3 carrots spinning in it.

Then manufacturers made the cubes with an additional “brush” on 2 sides of the part; now you can connect them to each other and attached to the same bristly surface. I really liked the idea of looking at an object through a transparent wall, and for my growing younger daughters I made noisy jars that they can use to make noise. You can use the cubes to build simple towers and marvel at the contents.

Italian Acrobat Brothers

Italian acrobat brothers from Chicco Magic Blocks set.

Chicco is a well-known and popular brand of all things for infants and toddlers. Chicco mostly makes strollers and other similar items, but there are also Chicco toys, like these building cubes. They are big, and colorful, have simple pictures on their sides, and are easy to grab and connect. The set also has wheels and animal heads. Obviously, the cubes are way too big to swallow accidentally, so they are safe and easy enough for kids who are older than 9 months. Chicco Blocks have magnets in them, but they are under the plastic surface. The cubes themselves are sturdy enough to prevent the magnets from falling out, so it’s not a safety concern.

This set looks very simple, but it is a good toy for smaller children, with many connecting possibilities and ways to play. You can build vehicles, animals, and houses, and use cubes as both 3D shapes and simple pictures. It’s a good way to enhance a toddler’s imagination and a safe way to occupy the child for a long. It’s a shame that these sets are not that common, even while the idea is pretty obvious.

Chicco Magic Blocks

Chicco Magic Blocks cube set. “Well, well, new cubes…” – Alesya is experimenting with the magnetic side of the cubes. We ignored our “respectable” 3-year-old age (cubes are recommended from 9 months) and purchased this. And we are happy. The side of the cube is 2 inches. You can connect the cubes in 3 ways:

1. Tongue and groove, each cube has a round yellow protrusion (about an inch in diameter) and a recess for this.

2. Magnetic – again, each cube have slightly convex and slightly concave red circles, and there are magnets under ach of these circles.

3. Regular, when you simply place the cube on the flat side. Flat sides also have nice pictures on them – a door, a window, bricks, a gate, a flower, a tomato. You can play out some situation with these pictures.

Building From Cubes

Chicco animals consist of body cubes and rattle heads. The little people also have hands. The Little house set includes a cute ratchet key. You can place all these things on a plastic plate, and arrange the cubes on it in any order. There are only small cross-shaped stops to prevent the cubes from sliding. Heads and roofs are not magnetic. The kids became obsessed with the tractor, it’s big and we have a wonderful purple cow driving it. There are details in the form of a mailbox, a flower, a tree (there is no tree in this photo – Alesya loved it so much that she doesn’t give it to anyone and hides it somewhere).

Chicco Big Farm

You can use cubes to build simple little houses and towers, act out funny and serious stories, arrange the cubes into a train and carry them around the house (in this case, a train of animals in a meadow). Multifunctional cubes and a pleasant toy for toddlers.

Chicco Let’s Go!

You can compose the towers in any way you like. Alesya placed the tower on the tractor, and the magnetic elements made it possible to attach the cubes to the side. And then a cheerful cat climbed up. Go!

Playcube Photo Frame

A frame for a photo (a teddy bear figure) from the Playcube pieces.

This is a vintage set of interlocking cubes by the French Playcube brand. The set has a bunch of big cubes with rails and openings on their sides. The cubes can interlock with any of their sides. The direction of the rails sometimes limits the number of possible positions. But it’s not a big problem, since all the pieces are cubic and all their sides are equal.

The set also includes soft plastic figures to decorate the crafts. These figures are flat, they are just silhouettes with no further details. They are thick enough to hold between the rails on the cubes’ sides without falling out. They come in different shapes – there is a shell, a teddy bear, a horse, and so on. They also have different colors.

This set is simple and fairly basic. It has very few pieces and no extra pieces like wheels or alternative shapes. There are many things you can build from this set, but it has way fewer possibilities than the building sets for the older kids. However, it’s a good toy for younger children, with big pieces that are also pleasant to touch. And the connection method is somewhat unique, there are very few building sets that offer something exactly like it.

Playcube Princess With A Fan

These are cubes of French origin – Playcube. The edge size is 2,5 in. The material is either rubberized plastic or very dense rubber. And they also have some kind of sweet smell, similar to vanilla. In addition to the cubes, the set includes extra figures for decorating crafts – they are a little denser to the touch than Tedico games.
