Just a bulldozer made from the Tegu building kit.
Category: Tegu – wooden cubes and planks with magnets (Honduras)
Tegu is a brand of building kits from Honduras that offers a delightful and engaging play experience. These kits feature wooden blocks and tiles with embedded magnets. The blocks come in basic shapes and may include accessories like wheels. The unique feature of Tegu is that the blocks can be freely assembled in any direction, allowing children to create a wide range of structures, such as houses, vehicles, and animals.
Apart from sparking creativity and providing entertainment, Tegu also helps develop fine motor skills. One of the notable advantages of this toy is its safety for children, as there are no small parts or details that could pose a risk. Parents and caregivers can have peace of mind knowing that Tegu offers a secure and enjoyable playtime option for little ones.
Tegu Bulldozer With Trailer
I like to take magnetic construction sets somewhere outdoors – to the park, on a car trip, on a summer vacation. So the magnetic Tegu often lives in a car or stroller. We unexpectedly found a metal garden bench in the park, and Afonya (1.9) immediately began to sculpt the details of his favorite set on it. Well, the sisters and mother corrected the structures, turning them into more familiar objects, like a bulldozer, for example. Afonya added the wheels himself.
A Dragonfly Has Come To Us
An unexpected metal garden bench made playing with Tegu even more interesting.
Tegu Spring
We don’t have such a beautiful set (The Explorer Set – Tegu Tints) in bright joyful colors, but the spring made from Tegu turned out to be very cheerful and life-affirming… The photo is from the Tegu website, and there are many more interesting ideas.
Tegu City
Looks like a Honduras’ bright future… The Tegu Explorer Set – Tints. Photo taken from the Tegu gallery.
14-Piece Blossom Tegu Set Contents
Everything included in the 14-piece Tegu set. This is another color scheme, Blossom, and many bigger sets also have these colors available.
Nelson Crab
You can’t play with a crab, it falls apart when moving, despite strong magnets. So you can only admire it. The upper part of the black-capped cube head is not fixed – the orange trapezoid has no magnets at the base.
14-Piece Tegu Set Lizard
Yet another 14-piece Tegu sculpture.
Tegu Explorer Set Wooden Building Blocks
When looking at the Nelson set through a computer screen, Admiral Nelson immediately comes to mind, setting off on a ship to the sea. Dark blue sea depths, gray-blue sky, green uninhabited islands, orange sunrise… “How romantic!” – I thought. And I was wrong – the set is named after a modern American designer from Connecticut, George Nelson. The colors in the set are really wonderful, and the quality is excellent. Sadly, I can’t say the same about the locations of the magnets in the pieces – they are catastrophically few. It seems that the details were well thought out, but they remembered about the magnets at the last moment, and hastily shoved a pair into each detail. We haven’t felt this dissapointed in a long time…
Tegu Magnetic Wooden Dog
Tegu Explorer Set – Nelson. The parts have good size – they are large, and the dog is almost the life-size of a little poodle. The short plate is 3x6x0.7 cm. The medium plate is 3x12x0.7 cm. The long plate is 3x21x0.7 cm. The short support (pillar, prism) is 3x3x9 cm. The long support (pillar, prism) – 3x3x18 cm. If you add large ears, the head may fall off – you need to carefully consider the size of the pieces.
