You can use these pieces and sets together.
Category: KID K’NEX
K’Nex is a rod and connector building system invented by Joel Glickman. It was first introduced in America in 1992. K’Nex is designed and produced by K’Nex Industries Inc. of Hatfield, Pennsylvania.
Kid K’NEX building sets are specifically designed for children aged 3-5. With larger, softer parts that are easy for small hands to manipulate and snap together, these sets provide a fun and engaging building experience. They feature colorful pieces in various shapes and sizes, like blocks, rods, and connectors, allowing children to create simple structures, animals, and more. Special pieces like colorful eyes, curly tails, and bendable joints add to the engaging fun.
These sets promote creativity, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. They are suitable for both individual and group play and can be used at home, in the classroom, or in after-school programs. Kid K’NEX sets introduce young children to building and construction in a safe and age-appropriate way.
This building toy promotes independent play, allowing children to create basic figures on their own and explore more complex structures with guidance. The set comes in a durable tub, perfect for family trips or easy storage at home. These preschool building toys encourage imagination, creativity, and the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving abilities, cognitive functions, and spatial intelligence in young children.
K’NEX Kid Safari Mates Set – Lion
The default model for the Kid K’Nex Safari set.
She-Hedgehog
Alesya tried herself as a car designer. This is another version of a rebuilt car, but with the addition of parts from other Knex kits.
Totoro’s Magic Forest
A successful combination of Knex and Lego Duplo construction sets. We placed Knex bricks on the Duplo plate. This really revitalized Duplo crafts, and crafts from Knex became more stable.
Little Mosquito
Anny with her pet Little (well, not so little) Mosquito.
Hey, Deer, Are You Sleeping?
He didn’t reacted when we just called him, so we decided to check.
K’NEX Kid Safari Mates Set
This is one of the smallest Kid K’Nex sets, with only 21 pieces. It has some uncommon decorative pieces like lion muzzle or lion paws. Despite the set having that lion theme and very few pieces, you can build many different crafts from it.
Flamingo
My daughters didn’t explain to me, why it is a “flamingo”. I believe that because of one leg and the pink plumage. After building this bird, we realized that the bricks complement Kid K’nex’s buildings very well. Now we think a lot about it.

How They Play In A Family With A Lot Of Construction Kits
We got a new set – Kid K”NEX Life Cycles set – 230 parts in total. I can recommend this set to beginning Knexomaniacs. There is nothing special for experienced builders, just wings and a LOT of parts, especially eyes. It has 10 eyes and 4 pairs of double eyes.
You can check it out on K’Nex site. You also can order pieces from them one by one. We used it, however, they accidentaly shipped our order to an address in the UK. We were happy to build all the models K’nex proposed – there were 16 of them. And then we made this chcken. We made it together with the younger ones, who were completely delighted with this mechanical chicken. And girls’ brother, who was spinning around and looking for a reason to take part in the game, build the mouse .
