The Wild Ones  – Wild Animals

Another very cute set of Kid K’Nex. The suitcase, by the way, doesn’t close very tightly. The set has octagonal plates for creating wild animals – like tiger, zebra, leopard… Some corrugated tubes. An interesting blue piece you can make a beak of a toucan or a rhinoceros horn – in our photo this is the body of a snail on the right. 4 cute tiger paws, a pair of cat ears – we tried to reflect the most interesting details of this set in the photo. We bought it second-handed – unfortunately, K’NEx doesn’t produce it anymore.

K’NEX Playground: The Swing, The Rope And The Slide

A whole playground we made from K’Nex, with a slide, a climbing rope, a slide and a climbing ladder. We built it from pieces that came from multiple different sets. Most of them, however, cam from K’Nex 100 models set.

K’Nex comes in two sizes: regular and mini K’Nex. There are also both thick and thin rods, and some rods can connect the larger and smaller pieces together. Not all K’Nex sets include mini parts.

Like other K’Nex sets, this one features pieces that securely lock together. You can easily take apart your creations and use the pieces to build something new. Regular K’Nex pieces have stronger connections, making crafts sturdy even during active play. Mini K’Nex creations are a bit more delicate. K’Nex 100 models set has only regular sets.

Although the crafts you can make with K’Nex can be quite large, some of the pieces, especially the mini ones, are very small. This can make K’Nex sets risky for small babies who might accidentally swallow the pieces. These small parts can also be a bit challenging for younger kids to assemble correctly. That’s why it’s recommended for children aged 7 and older to use K’Nex sets.

It’s also worth noting that most K’Nex sets don’t provide detailed crafting instructions. Some packages may only show completed toys as examples. However, thanks to the versatility and creative possibilities K’Nex offers, this usually isn’t a significant issue.

Clics Glitter Bucket Set

Clics Glitter is a type of Clics with colorful plastic with sparkles. This particular set, Clics Glitter Bucket, has 133 pieces and extra decorations, like stickers.

ClicsToys, a Belgian company established in 2001, operates its very own factory located in Kempen, where they craft the popular Clics building blocks. These building sets mostly have square pieces, all sharing identical form and shape. What sets Clics apart is their ability to connect smoothly at the edges, allowing flexible joint movements.

Using these plastic squares, the creative possibilities are endless, even though Clics sets tend to offer relatively few extra pieces and accessories. Some sets may include wheels and decorative panels, but few extra items. The true strength of Clics lies in the generous number of pieces in their sets, enabling you to make even biggest creations with ease.

The fundamental building blocks in Clics are square, which naturally leads to the formation of cubic or brick-like structures. However, the great advantage of these blocks is the ability to connect them at various angles, making diverse shapes. Careful assembly can even give you triangular or sloping figures. Nevertheless, the most robust and tough structures in Clics are cube-shaped. Additionally, you can create flat mosaics by combining pieces of different colors.

Playmobil Fire Truck – Box

This fire truck has only 86 pieces – and these pieces are mostly the extra items for the game. The vehicle itself comes in form of a few huge sections you just need to assemble. There is little to build – but when you done, you will get a good toy to play with. You can roll the truck around, rotate the ladder or remove the top of the cabin. Water cannon actually shoots platic “water”. There are also flexible firehoses and many extra items like the traffic cones.

K’Nex Beginner Set

This is one of the smallest K’Nex sets of only 141 pieces. It has classic K’Nex pieces and can be a good introduction to K’Nex for kids who never played with it. The number of the pieces in this set is more than enough to create many interesting crafts – even if they will be less complex than the crafts from bigger sets.

CLICS GIANT PLANE

A Clics giant plane. Willy learned that he should take picture of everything he builds and that he also should be in the photo, so this photo has his… legs.

ClicsToys is a Belgian company that was founded in 2001. They operate their own factory located in Kempen, where they manufacture the well-known Clics building blocks. These building sets consist of square pieces, all of which share the same form and shape. They easily connect at their edges, forming joints that can be moved.
Since the fundamental components of Clics are square, the basic forms you can build are typically cubic or brick-like. Nevertheless, thanks to the movable joints, you can connect them at various angles, resulting in diverse shapes. With careful assembly, it’s even possible to create triangular or sloping figures. However, the cubes remain the most robust and dependable structures this set can offer. Additionally, you can explore the option of crafting flat mosaics by combining pieces of different colors.
Using these plastic squares, you can construct flat surfaces and transform them into 3D shapes. Despite having relatively few extra pieces and accessories, Clics offer limitless creative possibilities. Some sets may include wheels and decorative panels, but these are the primary add-ons. On the plus side, Clics sets generally contain numerous pieces, enabling you to create complex structures with a single set.

Zoob BuilderZ Contents

Zoob Builderz is an interesting set that focuses on moving models. Technialy, all Zoob models can move, but this set includes a string and rubber bands to create things like trampoline or a catapult. This set is a better choice for older kids, who can learn many interesting things from it. The picture shows anything Zoob Builderz contents – 220 pieces in total.

Back in 1997, inventor Michael Grey introduced Zoob, a toy inspired by the science of motion and organism development. Zoob represents an acronym for Zoology, Ontology, Ontogeny, and Botany. Each set has rod-like pieces with joint balls and sockets on their ends. Each of these balls has small bumps on its surface, so the joints can both move and stay in a certain position if you need them to.

This innovative toy features a ball and socket connection system, mimicking the natural movement and design found in people, animals, and machines. With just five basic shapes, Zoob offers 20 different ways to connect them together.

Zoob building sets have won awards because they’re different from regular building blocks. They use plastic pieces that snap together, like gears and joints, to build all kinds of objects, limited only by your imagination. After you build something with Zoob, you can actually play with it – the pieces were designed to move after being assembled, so you can have fun with the toys you create.

Zoobs are great for helping children improve their fine motor skills. The pieces are small enough to easily manipulate and put them together, but they’re not too tiny like some other toys, so it’s easier for kids who find small objects tricky.
