Location Of Magnets In Tegu Explorer Parts

The Tegu Explorer Set has new parts – high and low pillars (prisms with a square at the base), large and small trapezoids, long planks. Unfortunately, the locations of magnets in them are terribly ill-conceived. To make it clearer, we attached colored magnetic balls to all the magnets available in these Tegu parts. For example, in large prisms of only 2 – at the ends, and none (!!!) on the sides. This immediately limits the use of these same prisms by 50%, they can only be used as columns and that’s it … Trapezes also have only one magnet each, on the sides. Large planks, however, have 3 magnets. The set is expensive and we expected to get new interesting parts to diversify the magnetic construction. But in the end, we got a set of beautiful wooden parts with limited magnetic functions…

Edtoy Smart Block Automobile – Box And Parts

The box is large – 11×2.75×14.5 in. The box itself is not suitable for storage. In fact, it’s not even a box, but more like a frame for blocks beautifully laid under transparent plastic. So you’ll need a storage box for this set.
I gave 2 car sets to younger sons, who are 3 years and 18 months old. With 2 sets that they won’t argue over the wheels and have the opportunity to make a locomotive with a wagon, a car with a trailer, a large truck, and any other vehicles with more than 4 wheels.
We liked the set, but it suddenly turned out to be more difficult (my personal opinion) than the similar Edtoy architectural set.
There are a lot of specific car parts in EDTOY Smart Block Automobile – beveled cubes, different types of round parts, l-shaped parts, radiators, roofs, pipes. So you can develop your own car for hours and it will always be different from your previous or brother’s car. With 2 sets, the variability increases. It’s great, but it’s too early for my boys. But in 2 years, I think Afonya will show us her models of new cars. In my opinion, the set will be a godsend for a young motorist aged 5-9 years old.
But that variety of details, of course, is not a minus of this set. On the contrary, they looked at the pieces, compared them, built, experimented and had fun. And they added Tegu cubes and planks to the crafts.

Here are some crafts boys made.

Clics Bulldozer

A bulldozer we made from a big Clics set.

ClicsToys is a Belgian company that was established in 2001. It makes the well-known Clics building blocks in its own factory in Kempen. Clics building sets have square pieces of identical form and shape. They easily connect at their edges, creating joints you can move.
With These plastic squares, you can create surfaces and fold them into 3D shapes. There are endless possibilities, even though Clics have very few extra pieces and accessories. Some sets have wheels and decorative panels, but this is pretty much it. On the other hand, Clics sets usually have many pieces, so you can create something truly complicated from just one set.
Since the basic pieces of Clics are squares, all the basic forms you can assemble from it are cubic or brick-like. However, thanks to the movable joints, you can assemble them at different angles, creating different shapes.
There are ways to create triangular or sloping figures if you assemble the pieces just right. The cubes, however, are the most sturdy and reliable structures this set can offer. There are also a possibility of creating a flat mosaic, combining the pieces of different colors.
