Tegu Skyhook. Cabin and tail in red tones, 3 triangular prisms, 2 blue cubes. 2 short planks in blue and red with aviation-themed decorations, 1 parallelogram, a cord with magnetic parts at the ends (most likely this is a hook), 4 wheels , 1 propeller and face – a cylinder with eyes – 17 parts of the new set. Tegu is a little ahead of the developers of one of the largest heavy-lift helicopters – SkyHook JHL-40 . The launch of this hybrid aircraft and helicopter was scheduled for 2014. It never took off, hovewer, due to lack of financial support – the project was short of 100 million dollars.
Category: Tegu – wooden cubes and planks with magnets (Honduras)
Tegu is a brand of building kits from Honduras that offers a delightful and engaging play experience. These kits feature wooden blocks and tiles with embedded magnets. The blocks come in basic shapes and may include accessories like wheels. The unique feature of Tegu is that the blocks can be freely assembled in any direction, allowing children to create a wide range of structures, such as houses, vehicles, and animals.
Apart from sparking creativity and providing entertainment, Tegu also helps develop fine motor skills. One of the notable advantages of this toy is its safety for children, as there are no small parts or details that could pose a risk. Parents and caregivers can have peace of mind knowing that Tegu offers a secure and enjoyable playtime option for little ones.
MAGBLOCK Magnetic Wooden Blocks Set
This is wooden magnetic building set, containing birch blocks with magnets in them. The shape of the pieces is very similar to pieces of Tegu building sets. Just like Tegu, Magblocks has cubes, planks, columns and wheels, and they are also close in size. The main difference is the magnets – in Tegu, magnets are hidden inside the wood, but in Magblock, they are inside rotating plastic sockets on the blocks’ surface. Because of this, magnets in Magblocks may connect directly to each other, and already-connected blocks rotate more smoothly. However, in theory, Magblock magnets have bigger chances to detach from the pieces, which may be dangerous to children.
42-Pieces Blues Tegu Set Contents
Everything included in the 42-piece Tegu set, in “Blues” colors. This set, unlike the smaller ones, have wheels, and also more prisms and cubes, so the crafts made from it are not so “flat”.
Edtoy + Tegu – School Bus
Using 2 magnetic construction sets together (globalization in action) – Edtoy from South Korea and Tegu from the USA, although it is made in Honduras.
Tegu planks fit well with Edtoy blocks, the bus rides on a pair of wheels from the Korean set. Thanks to the strong magnets of the Korean manufacturer, the vehicle turned out to be robust enough. Tegu’s magnets are hidden under the wood, so their strength is somewhat reduced.
Tegu Pocket Pouch Prism
Pocket Pouch Prism… …and what you can do with them. There are 6 parts in a felt pocket – 4 triangular prisms and 2 parallelograms. 5 color options.
